The Watcher

Washington, DC. October. The shouting of a Metro bus driver to a friend catches the attention of a loitering man near Chinatown. Uninterested in the exchange, he settles on instead watching the lively (and attractive) girls getting off the bus.

The Sleazy

Baltimore, MD. 2007. We meet in Mt. Vernon. Kel insists we greet everyone we meet before they get the chance to stab us. We greet at least thirty people. This guy stops to talk about the state of affairs in the city. He tells us that he'd much rather wander the urban darkness than rot in the safety of suburbia, because here is life. He tells us these streets are home to a kind of culture that is dying as fast as it is growing. Before he rides off on his bike, he shouts his name. I miss it under the passing of a city bus.
