This photo is Public Uploaded on July 5, 2008	This photo is Public Uploaded on July 5, 2008	Miniature of Gök Medrese, located at Miniaturk (www.miniaturk.com.tr) Gök Medrese which has become the symbol of Sivas was constructed by the architect Kaluytan in 1271 on the order of Seljuk Grand Vizier Sahip Ata. Originally named Sahibiye Medrese, it began to be widely known as Gök (Sky) Medrese due to the blue tiles on its minarets. The crown gate with double minarets and the ornamentation on the gate are the most magnificient aspects of the construction. The ornamentation consists of twelve different animal head figures, as well as recurring star and tree of life motifs. The walls of the 25 meter-long medrese were built from cut limestone.
