Just See Youself |

After a long day of shooting down in Long Beach, me and James were on the way home when we saw that we were in store for a pretty nice sunset. So we got off the freeway and hit the Lincoln/Sepulveda junction at LAX with the hope of catching some shots just like this.

I got bored tonight and decided I'd wander around our apartment complex and snap away. This was one of the better shots I captured. I know this kind of shot has been done a million times, but not by me. I wanted my moment in the convex mirror/self portrait limelight.

Glamis |
The Fair |
Riding Loose #2 |
I took this shot on a whim after arriving home from my friend Paul's house. Jumped out of the car and this was the first thing I saw. I presume the 'Glamis' this truck is referring to would be the Glamis Sand Dunes, which are apparently some of the nicest dunes in Southern California for off-road sports.

Taken at the 'Art In The Park' fair in Woodland Hills. I did the B+W conversion in Lightroom and was happy with the outcome. Simple shot, but I like it.

Heads Up |
On The Seashore |
I was having a shower on Saturday morning when I heard what sounded like an army of bikes coming up the road. I wasn't too far off. About 100 guys on motorbikes were pulling into the vacant lot of a video game developer directly across from my apartment balcony. They then proceeded to do things like this ..... Lunatics. There will be more in this series over the following weeks.

Myself, and my good friend James went down to Long Beach for the day, mainly to shoot at the aquarium, but we ended up walking around the marina. After a long walk we took a break and rested on the grass verge in front of the lighthouse. I was lying down, looked to my side, and this is what I saw. I liked the 2 heads just popping over the horizon.

I trekked down to Dockweiler State Beach in Playa del Rey a few weeks back to take some photos. My battery went dead after 5 shots :( This was the very last shot I took before it went and the best of the (small) bunch.

Ventura Evening |
Film Work |
Drownwatch |
This was taken after a long day of doing absolutely nothing. Lazy Summer days! We went for a few pints at Pickwicks Pub on Ventura Blvd. The sky looked beautiful so I grabbed my tripod and rattled off some shots.

This shot was taken where I work. I'm a Vault Manager for a Visual Effects house in Los Angeles. I had a bit of downtime and started shooting. There will probably be a few more in this series. My idea at the time was to see if I could come up with a decent photograph while confined to a small space.

Without A Paddle |
Hole In The Wall |
Five Times Sunset |
I took a hike in Malibu Creek State Park on Saturday with my good friend James. The intention was to shoot some long exposures of the river. As you can probably tell from the picture, when I got there, there was no river. Not a single drop of water. So rather than walk the trails, I decided to walk some of the river bed instead. This guy obviously didn't make it down stream. It was a slightly eerie feeling looking down from the trails and seeing no water. I guess Southern California could use some rain, which is not likely anytime soon.

This was shot on Monday down in Venice Beach. Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of lens flare in Photoshop?

Went for an evening/night stroll around the Loyola Marymount University campus. I was happy with the composition of this shot and the colors were beautiful. It all looked great on the LCD, but I was a bit annoyed to get home and see I had the ISO set at 800 which resulted in quite a bit of noise. Oh well.

Solar Powered Silhouette |
Punch Dusk Love |
Lights On Westlawn |
This is a picture of the Ferris wheel on Santa Monica pier. Which is the first solar powered Ferris wheel ever, if I'm to believe what I read. The wheel has been shot a million different ways by as many people, usually at sunset. So I tried a multitude of different vantage points to get the framing that I wanted. The crop tool came in handy as well! This is what I ended up with.

Not much to say about this one, other than I'm glad that couple stood motionless for as long as they did. Allowing me to get a nice exposure of the ocean. Edited: I reprocessed this shot and am posting it again . In February, it was one of my first attempts at a B+W conversion and maybe not up to par with what I could do now. Originally I used the standard grayscale conversion. This time I did the B+W conversion via the lightness channel, then used curves and levels in PS. I think it looks better now. Thanks to PhotoSam (photosam.shutterchance.com) for the constructive criticism. Much appreciated.

I was watching TV the other night at about 11pm when all of a sudden there was a really bright light shining through my window. A quick look out the door revealed what was going down on the street below. One of our neighbors was recording her music video. So of course I grabbed my camera and started snapping away.
