View Big Thanks to my Dad, for showing me "Equalize" in Photoshop on this shot, originally it was blown out but with Image-->Adjustments-->Equalize and faded it a bit under Edit--> Fade Equalize , it worked out nicely.

Thanks, Andrew. Equalize doesn't apply to all images or exposures, but when it does, it can have a profound effect.

I found it helped here because before Equalize the exposure on the sand was blown out to where you couldn't see the shadows and bumps in the sand, and it brought that out as well as the mountains in the background, despite the foggy conditions.

Another Adjustment I'll use when wanting to bring our grain, age paint, etc. is "Highlights", then adding Contrast.
