Takes a Rabit's Touch

Day 35 (kinda) Since I technically did see you today, this one is more just for fun. And, since you wanted a picture anyways today, I am going to retain the focus. Do you ever wonder what other people see when they look at you? I do sometimes. Is what they see distorted? Do they really see me, or do they see some creatively constructed identity they have assigned to me? Or, just maybe, I am the one who sees it all distorted and interactions with those who really know me is what actually makes me me. Thanks for being the best at minimizing the distortion.

Expectations Fall

Day 34 Is it just me or is everything/everyone more activist this year than usual? I think the words 'At the least' are missing from this. I know the picture and the 'comment' are cheap and banal, but it is a good reflection of my life oftentimes without you around. Hey, sometimes it is the cheese that makes it good...

Matters to Them

Day 33 I think a lot of the time it is not about the medals hanging on the wall, but it is about the drive to help someone else have walls to even put medals on. And that is something that all the Ivy in the world cannot provide. To use Alli Roger's words again, "if the stars that shine are in any way a sign, then I think someone is out there puttin' up a fight." I am sure that in the midst of all the Ivy, a little light is a pleasant change of pace. After all, the sand dollars need the stars that shine.

This Moment Keeps on Moving

Day 31 I have been frustrated a lot lately, it seems. I did think that it was just because there was so much going on in our lives and too many things up in the air at once. I was listening to a Jack Johnson song tonight and one line said, "Cause this moment keeps on moving... We were never meant to hold on." Maybe I am too prone to hold on to the comfort of 'today' and not cling the the hope of 'tomorrow.' I don't think we talk often enough in the Church of the pain in hope; the pain in faith. He has provided in the past and will again, but somehow it all feels the same. Maybe that is just a deficiency on my part though... probably. Hope you rocked the 'real' interview! (Note for anyone elese: there is a quasi-worthwhile reason the house looked like this!!)

Day 30 So I was totally feeling like a slacker today and didn't have a picture, but found this one I took the other night. Two totally random people came up to me to talk that night, that guy in the window being one of them. He said he has 'had that idea' a long time. After some casual conversation and asking about the camera he told me his story about the 'Laundry place' had better not show up in the Ney York Times. I almost threw this pic and all the rest from that night out. Didn't think I liked them. Cold calls can be the same way. None seem to be worthwhile, but you go back and find that you not only like them, but that they can also be very meaningful. At the very least they are interesting and there are still a lot of people out there that want to talk.

Day 29 I think you are right. It is spring time. I hope that we dream big and look for Him to live His dreams through us.

Day 28
So I did have something amazingly clever to say, but then I heard this song and it made me think of you...

"Saturday, 600 miles
lie between, the two of us
And telephones, they can't replace
Me with you, face to face."
- With You Tonight, Matt Wertz

See you tonight!

Day 26 "Cause it seems your heart is a part of mine I’ve sorted through every word I know to use And looked for beauty to define I haven’t found what I want to say to you But I’ll try for the rest of my life Lets try for the rest of our lives" - If I Ever, Alli Rogers

A New Day

Day 25 Alright, so here is my first attempt at an HDR image (not sure it came out so well). I am all about being open to new things as of late and I owed you a pic of my re-arranged corner anyways.

All You Have To Do

Day 24 It is funny how some things in life can be both empowering and imprisoning at the same time. Maybe the best position to be in is balanced in the middle. Or maybe the middle is more of a tension than a balance. Time seems to be just such a thing.
