After hundreds of people had taken our photos, I decided to take out my own camera and get a picture of the crowd. When faced with being in a picture themselves, the crowd dispersed amazingly quickly. These were the only stragglers I managed capture on "film".

I haven't actually deleted any of these comments. Reddit, for its own inscrutable reasons, has decided to censor my account. Whenever anyone tries to view my comments (either in context or from my profile), Reddit says they've been deleted. When I'm logged in, though, they all show up. In other words Reddit is going out of it's way to deceive me into thinking my comments are viewable to other users when they aren't. I wasted over a month regularly "contributing" to Reddit before uncovering the deception.

手 means "hand", and 紙 means "paper". 手紙 means "letter" in Japanese. But in this Chinese sign, 手紙 means "toilet paper".

I hadn't been back the US in quite a while. I had no idea the drinks were really so big. I'm used to the big cup being 22oz. The second largest cup at the gas station on my way to Boston was just too much for me. To be honest it's hard for me to imagine the idea that a single serving of soda could be half a gallon.
