Trains, animals, pedestrians.. the tracks are for everyone. Unlike in Auckland where a train driver stopped his train just to yell at me - and I was only near the tracks..

The traffic on Queen Street on the morning of the 4th of July was mostly trucks and lorries. They were protesting a hike in the cost of diesel.

On Auckland's Anniversary Weekend, the Royal New Zealand Navy Band entertained crowds by the Viaduct Harbour. They played marches and contemprory music.

Police form a barrier between the protesters and the expected motorcade carrying the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
As you can probably tell the weather was wet. It was very wet and photographing was a challenge. It was also very windy, with gusts of wind frequently threatening to blow me off my feet.

The William C. Daldy. This steam powered tug boat converted for passenger cruises is best known for saving the Auckland Harbour Bridge. During construction of the winds gale force winds threatened to blow the centre section of the bridge off the construction barge. This tug was called in and for 36 hours non stop this tug battled against the winds to keep the section under control.

I don't think I've seen anyone quite as excited as this kid. Couldn't get a good enough photo of his excitement though. (Low light + excited kid + drizzle = very blurry photo)
