It was a rainy day on the 23rd of September 2009 in Auckland. Still, the ladies in the Boobs on Bikes parade were sporting enough to not disappoint the patient crowds building up along Queen Street.

I don't know this band (I presume it's a band) but I liked the poster, especially with the branches crossing over.

There was heavy cloud cover along the horizon on the 1st of January 2009 - this is when the sun finally showed itself. The photo was taken from Maungawhau Mount Eden (one of the many old volcanoes in the area).

The Spirit of New Zealand sets sail with passengers to watch the boat and yaght races on Auckland's Anniversary Day. The Spirit of New Zealand on occassion does cruises but it's primary role is to help kids in Auckland and elsewhere in New Zealand develop useful skills and character traits by introducing them to sailing a vessel such as this.

The William C. Daldy. This steam powered tug boat converted for passenger cruises is best known for saving the Auckland Harbour Bridge. During construction of the winds gale force winds threatened to blow the centre section of the bridge off the construction barge. This tug was called in and for 36 hours non stop this tug battled against the winds to keep the section under control.

Built in 1999, Te Mana is one of 10 Anzac Class frigates in the navy. It's 118 metres long and does 27+ knots. I was told it can turn full circle in about 30 seconds depending on the weather.

I found most fascinating the rows upon rows of camera phones beeping away. It was however difficult to get a shot that captured it well, and this is the best I got.
