Day 8 of the December Challenge. Today Allison and I took Eva to pick out her first Christmas Tree. The local Boy Scout Troop sells the trees each year and I want to help support them when the time comes around. The boys are always helpful and they even cut the trunk and loaded it on the car for us. This Boy Scout was particularly helpful so I gave them an extra donation. I didn't find anyone to shoot a portrait of today. So that is two self portraits for the December Challenge. After a 2 hour drive, a dinner alone and another hotel to check into I took my gorillapod, set it up on the shower rod, set my point and shoot to timer, color accent mode and no flash. Then after a bunch of not so great photos I decided upon this one. I wanted the red on the T-shirt to really pop. More at The BenSpark

Day 5 of the December Challenge. This is Drew, he is a crazy man. Instead of doing something artistic and interesting for the portrait I got this. The wacky off the wall antics of Drew as some deranged evil elf scaring people behind a revolving Christmas tree in some bar/restaurant/pool hall in Grundy, VA. Spend your whole day traveling from airport to airport and then driving 2 hours to the site and well, a little levity is what is needed. More at The BenSpark

Day #4 of the December Challenge and I recruited my friend Sue to be the subject of today's portrait. We went to Max and Erma's for dinner and then had fun over by the giant tub where you can make unlimited sundaes. More at The BenSpark

Day 3 of the December Challenge. I kind of copped out here. I did a self portrait. I wanted to ask someone if I could make their portrait but I was too shy. So I took this photo of myself with my timer using the custom timer feature on my Canon 800is. The feature lets you set a custom timer as well as how many photos to shoot. A waitress was passing by during this photo. I liked the effect. More at The BenSpark

Day two of Trevor Carpenter's December Challenge. This is my grandmother with my daughter. We went to visit her today. Eva is 2 months old and we finally got the chance to visit with Grandma, Eva's Great-Grandmother. Eva is the first Great-Grandchild. I love the expression on my grandmother's face. She is so proud to hold Eva. Eva, well it is few and far between when you get a 2 month old to actually look at you let alone the camera. More at The BenSpark
