Part of a black and white nude photoshoot I did late in high school.
Photographed myself. My beautiful model is ~Pyretta-Blaze; pay her a visit as she is an incredible photographer in her own right. Pictures taken on an Olympus OM-2; lens was a wide angle that I don't recall the specs on. This is a scan from paper photo media with a matte finish. Manipulated in PS slightly to eliminate some of the nasty grittiness from the paper and "fix" the colors to my liking.
Gives me the feeling of watching someone you love waking up.

I thought she had a hint of a "you can't handle me" attitude in this shot. I especially like the way this shot begins to showcase her lovely eyes.

She can hold you in place with that stare. To me it's a bit of a stark contrast to the way she hides softly in her hair.

It's funny
How we will
Stare without seeing
Freeze without ceasing
When our minds
Engage in time travel.

Lake Superior, Break Wall II |
Lake Superior, Break Wall I |

|
This is a view of Lake Superior from the southern shore of Presque Isle, in Marquette, Michigan. The weather was really cold and windy that day. This was taken in the fall of either 2000 or 2001, not long after I really got into photography the first time around. Taken on an Olympus OM-2 with a wide angle lens. I don't recall the film, but it was probably 400 speed Kodak or Fuji.
Here's a more complete view of the break wall leading out to the lighthouse at the tip. You might be able to make out how the wall goes a ways out completely intact until about the bend or slightly before. At that point the wall has been broken apart and is a line of massive boulders. I think they did that to discourage the toruists but during the summer it's a lot of fun - and a good excercise in stamina and coordination if you go quickly - to keep going over the boulders to the lighthouse. The wall appears to go out for almost a mile or so, but it's really not that far. It's the wide angle lens fooling the perspective. You can walk to that lighthouse in probably 15-20 minutes (including negotiating the boulders during the second half).
Lake Superior was having on of Her little windy spats on this particular day, so it gives the shot a lot of motion and activity for being such a static portrayal.

Lake Superior is dangerous when the waves become even slightly choppy on a windy day. Althoguh most of you might think that these are some pretty big waves, these really aren't that big for Superior. But you can still see the force that She throws on the break wall. Trust me when I tell you I've seen Her get really pissed off and it makes this little tantrum seem like a row boat's wake.
You can also see the lighthouse at the end of the breakwall through the misty sprays of Her waves.

What can I say. Lake Superior having one of Her minor fits during a stormy, ice cold fall day.

Waves like these on Lake Superior are dangerous and many lives have been claimed by Her in this very area. And the scary part is, these waves are child's play. The object off in the right corner is a lighthouse at the tip of a breakwall.

If you're wondering about the title, perhaps you haven't noticed her eyes in this shot.
