Good Luck Lime Tree |

I wondered who had put this horse shoe on the tree, it seemed pretty old, and the tree too is old and usually a good vantage point for birds.

Daffodils in the woods |
Woodland Path |
Lights on the Thames |
Walking into the wood the sun still low in the sky, the daffodils were flowering and the first signs of spring were around me.

On solitary retreat walking through the woods at the Seekers Trust, the sunlight was dappling the path which was covered with moss, and it brought to mind paintings by Monet and Klimpt.

Looking across the bridge, with the trains passing close by and loudly to Charring Cross, it seemed another world, the lights sparkling on the water below.

Nighttime Reflections on the Thames |
Under the Millenium Bridge London |
Millenium Bridge over the Thames |
The lights along the Embankment and on the boats were casting long reflections on the Thames. Always a magical effect for me.

Instead of walking across the Millenium Bridge, I walked underneath to look at that perspective. The patterns formed by the walkway treads, the blue sky and dark forms of the bridge appealed.

Looking across the Thames to St Pauls, the Millenium Bridge above me and the sun and blue sky making the Thames water look unusually attractive.

Church wedged in between |
Reflections on London |
Millenium Bridge and the "Gherkin" |
Looking across the street I noticed this church that looked sadly squashed in between the new buildings around St Pauls. No doubt the vista was left deliberately open, but it just served to make me think what might have been lost.

Walking down from St Pauls to Tate Modern with my camera, the day was bright and relecting images in the new Salvation Army building. I liked the contrasts of old and new, the cross and the words will have.

I was looking across the Millenium Bridge, seeing how the form of the bridge outlined and worked with the surrounding buildings. The "gherkin" was in view in this shot.

London Street |
East End Street Art |
Nighttime Lights |
The large A painted on the shop shutter and the sunlight reflecting patterns on the car, cars and pedestrian, all lead to a vibrant image in my eye and then in the camera lens

Walking up Brick Lane, London I really liked the ammount of adverising, flyposting and stickers etc that looked like contemporary works of art.

Walking across the footbridge back to Embankment underground, the lights of the Southbank and bridge and city were a blaze of colour. wanting something atmospheric, the atmosphere was rather party like, it being the first warm nights this year, i moved the camera to experiment with the image.

St Pauls and the Millenium Bridge |
Urban Decay |
The contrasting construction of the Millenium Bridge with St Pauls and the City of London building provided contrasting forms, with the movement of the bridge's structure leading and linking the buildings.

Walking along Brick Lane the fly posted bridge and wall stood out, their white and red colours contrasting with the dark and grimey railway building. The colours the young mother, grandmother? and child were wearing made the image doubly compelling to me.
