I got hassled by the Sundance Square's private security guards for taking this shot of the Tarrant County Courthouse from the middle of Main Street.
For one of the city's more popular "tourist destinations" that's a rather unwelcoming attitude.

The thing that really bugs me about the encounter is not just that the security guards were following an obviously inane policy, but that at first they tried to give me a BS line about "well everybody's a little jumpy ever since 9/11..." and it wasn't until I pushed back about the insidious threat of geeks with cameras that they admitted it that the concern was actually from the PR department who worries about how "professionals" might portray Sundance Square. What a cop out.
It used to be the place I'd go to meet up with friends for a nice evening out. Haven't spent a dime in the Square since. Their loss.
