I found a bee that was caught in a spider web on my porch. The bee had only one leg stuck in the web, so there was a definite possibility of escape. The bee and the spider struggled for more than an hour, with the spider unable to get close enough for a venomous bite and the bee unable to untangle itself from the web. Eventually the bee, exhausted, could not hold off the spider anymore. The spider moved in and injected its venom. The bee, defenseless, was consumed.

This one took some effort. I spent about an hour setting up the lighting and getting the adjustments correct, then decided it had to be at f/45 with a deep green filter. This, coupled with a bellows extension factor and film reciprocity, required an exposure of 30 minutes! Crap! I had to make sure nothing in my house moved.

If you can guess how I added color to a black and white image you win a congratulatory handshake and a pat on the back.

This is an 8.5 hour exposure. The rainbow thing is the moon as it traveled across the sky.
