Zen Garden at Museum of Civilization |
|
This is from near Byward Market, on the way to Sweetgrass Aboriginal Restaurant (where everyone should eat at least once).
I'm not sure if I liked the lamps or the stonework more.

Huge zen garden, a bit out of the way. It grabs you when you walk in to the back part, where there is a meditation space.
Done with local plants and rocks, by a Zen monk from Japan.

Part of the Museum of Civilization display. The light is horrible there, so I couldn't get a good pic. Shame, as I'd like to make some of these.

The Hall of canada is the third floor of the Museum of Civilization. You travel forward in time and west as you move through it. Very nicely done.

I don't know what church this is, but Judith loves churches, so here it is.

Rideau Canal and Chateau Laurier |
This small yard was so beautiful, even in late fall, that I had to stop, and admire it.

This yard just brought me to a halt, walking down the street.

The grand old hotel by the Rideau Canal. I feel like pond scum just walking by it.

The Currency Museum entrance is just off to the left. It was even better than the atrium.
The gift shop sells small vials of gold flakes. So, it is possible to exchange currency for gold at the Bank of Canada still.

Across from the fascinating and free Currency Museum. Even in the early fall, this was a pleasant place to hang out.
