Since I don't expect anyone to catch the obscure reference anyway, I'll just explain. It's the Planet of the Apes. This lake seriously looked exactly like the spot where Charlton Heston crash-landed his spaceship.

Oh, wouldn't you like to know! It's actually in the middle of the desert, and it's a very dirty lake. You can see about one inch down.
