Bio

Shauna Thomas is a television producer with years of production
experience on news, talk and reality shows, including “Dr. Phil,” “TMZ”
and “The Bachelor.”



Currently, Shauna Thomas is a segment director on “Dr. Phil,” a
position she was promoted to after working as segment producer for six
months. Her responsibilities include writing, developing, producing and
editing weekly in-depth stories under deadline.



Shauna Thomas also manages a team through pre and post production,
writes shooting scripts, interviews guests, and writes, produces and
edits packages. She writes and produces news segments for “Dr. Phil
Now,” a news program, and was the story producer on a five-episode
reality series, “The Dr. Phil House.” Shauna Thomas produced Todd &
Jessica: A Family in Crisis,” which earned an Emmy nomination for
multi-camera editing.



Shauna Thomas has also produced high conflict & drama tape packages
for shows including “The Scott Peterson Jurors: Life After the Trial,”
“Anna Nicole Smith: The Families Grieve,” and “Hoarding Nightmare.”



From June to August 2007, Shauna Thomas worked as a field producer for
“The Bachelor,” a reality dating show in which she produced date
content for segments that enjoyed high ratings, while staying within
her production budget. Shauna Thomas interviewed the show’s contestants
throughout casting and production and managed multiple story arcs.



Before joining the The Bachelor, Shauna Thomas worked as a freelance
writer, producer and editor for “TMZ,” an entertainment program that
also delivers online content.



For three years, from June 2003 to Feb. 2006, Shauna Thomas was the
features and entertainment reporter for “Good Day Utah,” broadcast on
KSTU, Salt Lake City, a Fox affiliate. Shauna Thomas had sole
responsibility for writing, producing, booking and reporting daily
entertainment content for morning live shots.



In the field, Shauna Thomas acted as the producer and reporter for a
3-hour live show, managing crew and guests.



Among the highlights of her time at KSTU, Shauna Thomas wrote, produced
and reported segments at “American Idol Finals,” “Sundance Film
Festival” & “Fox Network TV Press Tour.”



Other accomplishments at KSTU include developing relationships with
publicists at Warner Bros./Disney/Paramount/Universal, allowing Shauna
Thomas to secure exclusive movie junket coverage for Fox in the Salt
Lake City market.



Shauna Thomas also wrote anchored daily entertainment segments for
“Live at 11” and “Fox News at 9.”

In addition to serving as a freelance entertainment correspondent on
“Extra,” a host and writer on “The Daily Buzz,” and a reporter, writer
and producer for “ESPN: Chicago Auto Show,” Shauna Thomas worked as a
reporter, writer and producer for Fox 59 A.M. News in Indianapolis.
While at the station, from April 2002 to April 2003, Shauna Thomas
wrote, produced and anchored, The Now Generation, a pop culture segment
on the morning news, produced, booked and reported Fox 59 a.m. live
shots and wrote packages for the 9 p.m. news and wrote, produced,
created and hosted “Quik Hitz,” a nightly entertainment news program.



Shauna Thomas started her broadcast career as a writer, producer and
online reporter for Disney.com, providing red carpet coverage and
behind-the-scenes content on film sets in Vancouver, Thailand and
Ireland from 2000 to 2002. In the fall of 2001, Shauna Thomas also
worked as an associate producer for “Inside Edition,” a nationally
syndicated news program.



Before joining television production Shauna Thomas held the title of
Creative Development Executive for the film company Motion Picture
Corporation of America.  During her 2 years with the company she
developed & packaged scripts with talented writers and directors.



Shauna Thomas has received professional awards including “Best Feature
Reporter” in Utah and the Reader’s Pick Award from City Weekly Magazine
in 2004.
