the rss feeder link no longer works with the flickr widget in Wordpress. It used to work fine with Mk. II and has worked sporadically with Mk III, but now shows nothing, and even the 'More Photos' link within the widget no longer works.
Is the RSS link at the bottom of the photo page no longer valid?

Here's a curious one that I found when reviewing a batch of 59 pics that I uploaded June 12 to June 16...

56 were unedited, straight from the datacard, and they don't show the exif data or tags...

3 are panoramas that were stitched using Autostitch, these DO show the exif data and tags.

Intriguing stuff.

Do we have a date for sets availability yet?

The only date we ever get for anything is 'soon'.

LOL @ Dave E...

According to the experts, we'll be hit by a comet soon, there will be another ice-age soon, the Yellowstone NP supervolcano will erupt soon etc. etc..

Will we get sets before any of these, d'ya think?

:-)

One of my photos has all of the sudden disappeared. It's called hungry squirrel. The title is still there, but no picture. Any idea why?

It's linked to an outside blog post, and it's gone from there too.

I can see the squirrel in all sizes available.

Yes, now I see that it's back. That was very strange.

Let's see if he stays or goes off looking for nuts again...

When you enter this thread only shows the links of 6 pages, but when you enter the 6th page you get the final 7th link for the latest posts.

Also would be nice to have these links at the top of the page to avoid scrolling down.

Using XP with Firefox 2.

Minor bug, but still a bug...
wrote Posted on July 14, 2007 (permalink)
Alan, wanted to post abt the same when i entered this page :)
yeah this is a problem, there should be a last page link...
wrote Posted on July 14, 2007 (permalink)
Alan, I'm seeing the same problem here too. I've flagged the bug for Kristopher. I'm also using WinXP and Firefox 2.

If would be nice to have a First/Last page link and move the page navigation to the top (or top and bottom) of the page.

Hi Kris, there might be some problem with zmails. New zmails cannot be marked as read even though you have read many many times. This flaw might be fixed up sooner or later, I think.
wrote Posted on July 16, 2007 (permalink)
Pal, That's a known problem with zmail. Thanks.
wrote Posted on July 16, 2007 (permalink)
That's a Javascript problem, not Flash.
I've seen it happen on other sites, never here on Zooomr.

[edit]
Oops. I totally didn't see the 7th page link O_o.
(Bug?)
This post was in response to the last post on Page 6.
wrote Posted on July 16, 2007 (permalink)
VxJasonxV, the 7th page access is messed up and must be a bug in Zooomr Groups. You don't know there is a 7th page unless you go to page 6 first.
wrote Posted on July 16, 2007 (permalink)
Yeah, I just found that out definitively.

Thanks for letting me know though.

@ Kris and Thomas...

Any chance of an update, telling us what's changed since this time last week, and what will change next week?
wrote Posted on July 18, 2007 (permalink)
I am, like many other posters here, getting frustrated with continued feature-incompleteness. I realise it's a beta, but searching by tags, the smartset function and licensing still aren't fixed, and all the wiki has said on that for over two weeks is that these are coming "soon", or "in the next few days". Any details on the progress on any of these fronts would be greatly appreciated.

System: Firefox 2.0.0.4, Windows XP SP2.
wrote Posted on July 19, 2007 (permalink)
System: Mac OS 10.4
Browser: FireFox 2.0.0.4

Issue: Geotagging does not work.

Descriptions:

Thumbnails keep appearing on the left pool even after being selected and placed in the right pool.

After confirmation, the thumbtack does not appear on the map/satellite. Pictures are not geotagged.

Really great to see SmartSets back up, and they work with Japanese now too!

You may or may not be aware of the following issues I have come across while playing around with the new SmartSets:

1. They appear to be limited to only 12 SmartSets, any additional ones drop off the bottom (and reappear if you delete some of the visible ones).
2. While SmartSets can be created from everyone's photos, or my social group's photos, the cover photo itself can only come from my own photos (and the option to have a randomly selected photo from within the set as a cover photo like mark II is also gone).
3. SmartSets can be created from things like views or date, yet the cover photo can only be chosen based on tags. So if I create a set using 'number of views', when it comes to picking the cover photo I have no way to refine the choice of cover photo to the photos that would actually appear in the SmartSet.

Thank you for the sets! Now, is there any plans to fix the uploading issue, so that I have something to fill this sets with?
Once again, WinXP SP2 + Firefox: supposedly fixed for upload, not working for me.
Thank you.
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
oh, and I tried with IE too. Doesn't work either. No uploading! :(
Please, is there any plans of fixing this in the near future?
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
I found a bug with the smartsets :)
It's small though so don't worry...
Anyway, I decided to create a smartset of all my photos, so I set it to show my photos which have more then -1 views, and everything went according to plan.
However, when I looked at the smartset from the smartset page, it showed the smartset as having around 130k photos (I can check for the exact number if you want)

If I look inside the smartset, the correct number of photos is reported. Other smartsets show correct numbers inside and in.

I have trouble uploading pictures. I have tried uploading a set of pictures for most of the day, only to have one or none upload. I wish you guys would go back to using something like jUploadr. It would make like a lot easier.
wrote Posted on Aug. 5, 2007 (permalink)
I am also having issues uploading. I'm using a Mac I tried Firefox and Safari. It uploads the pictures says complete then takes me back to my photo page and there are no photos.

Same problem for me and my husband tonight on our accounts as well.

@Range, we will be going back to jUploadr once we have more storage online -- it's a long story.

@All, Uploading should be working again -- sorry for the problem.

Kristopher: NOPE, uploading still not working for me.
Any plans of fixing this? I really want to use this service, but it really seems that the service doesn't want me to use it.
wrote Posted on Aug. 11, 2007 (permalink)
Kristopher, when do you expect to "have more storage online" so that jUploadr can be reinstated? Is there any sort of ETA?
wrote Posted on Aug. 12, 2007 (permalink)
Is there an "edit your account" feature back on Zooomr? A place to change your password, settings, etc.? I can't seem to find.
wrote Posted on Aug. 12, 2007 (permalink)
I'm using Linux... and OPERA BROWSER.. and i CAN upload pictures... ;) , the problem is Firefox or Browsers that use Mozilla Engine.
wrote Posted on Aug. 13, 2007 (permalink)
@jennifer, The ability to edit your account has not been implemented yet. It's on the list of new features.

Opera on Linux, with flash?
Or one at a time?

One at a time has always worked, so far as I recall. Linux+Firefox+Flash was the issue, I haven't heard Linux+Opera+Flash yay or nay.

Hmmm, WinXP+Firefox2 is a problem for me, even trying to do one at a time... and has been a problem for over 7 weeks already (since I first reported it; maybe the problem has been longer).
Any plans?

Rafael: As we discussed before I'm running the same configuration here (WinXP+Firefox2) and I don't have any problems uploading photos. I also haven't heard of anyone else having problems with this configuration either. Could you have something else running in your system that is interfering with the upload process? I'm not sure Kris will be able to resolve a problem that only you are seeing (I'm making an assumption here).

The two upload problems I've heard about are: 1) Linix/Unix, and 2) WinXP + Internet Explorer.

I believe Kris feels that most of the upload problems will be solved when he enables the API and jUploader can be used to upload photos so maybe this will solve your problem too.

I don't have any first-hand information but just offering my thoughts.

I've noticed that I have problems uploading large files on less than optimal connections. I upload my original high res photos many of them 20MB or greater in size to Zooomr. I cannot upload any of these files via EVDO. I can, however, upload all of them on a DSL or fiber connection.

I suspect that some uploading problems might be related to less than optimal connections or large files sizes.
wrote Posted on Aug. 14, 2007 (permalink)
Someone also mentioned that his firewall was killing his file uploads when running WinXP+Firefox. His uploads worked when he shut off his software firewall. (I think Rafael said he couldn't turn off his firewall so that may not be something he could verify.)

It is one at a time...
The problem i have in Firefox with Linux is that it not recognize some of my JPG .... opera does.

im trying on firefox 3.0... and it Works.. but only one at a time.

Fogview: thank you; I realize that my problem is not a generalized one, but I still am unable to upload to Zooomr; I cannot nail down the reason, since I _can_ upload stuff to Flickr, Picnik, YouTube, OurMedia and Facebook, and Zooomr is the only place where I am having trouble uploading (and I know for sure that on May I was able to upload pics). I can wait, I just hope that this gets solved at some point.

Thomas: I am _trying_ to upload files between 500kB and 1.2 MB, behind a DSL, so I guess the problem is not the size, nor the connection.

It worked!
Now, this is what is happening. I uploaded a 43kB image, it uploaded without any problem and appeared in my photostream.
Then I tried to upload another image, 430kB. This one brings the problem in: shows all the process, says it finished successfully, and then returns me to my pictures page where ... my picture is not!
This second picture is the one I have continuously tried to upload before, I don't know what is the problem with it.
Then I tried with a different picture, 370kB, and failed.
A new try with a very small (25kB) succeeded, and the next one was 577kB, and failed again.
So the bottom line seems to be that any file over some 350 kB in size will not be uploaded which, for a place where I am supposed to share my pictures is pretty lame.
Please! Help!

Cannot rotate photos...

Rotating photos take time and you can not expect the rotated photo right after rotation. Wait a minute and refresh your photopage.

Hi !
I already posted this message in another discussion ...

I can't be added on the photographs people list.
When I type <<Cédric>> I do not have any result.
Would it have a <<conflict>> with this account:

Thanks

Ok, ok, this is really stupid now.
I cannot upload ONE picture over 350 kb, but if I upload TWO of them, then the first one doesn't appear but ALAS! the second one does!
This leads more and more to show that the problem is not in my side!
Please! Will there be any progress on this? At least an aknowledgement of the problem?

Rafael, I'm not sure why this is the case. I and many others can upload photos just fine. I routinely upload photos between 6 and 20MB no problem at all.

A couple of things that I've noticed in general though. I cannot upload any photos with an EVDO connection. Well, I can upload small images, but not my large images. I'm not sure why this is and Kristopher is aware of it, but I have much more success uploading images from home on my DSL or wi-fi somewhere. Even then though routinely some photos don't make it on the upload and I have to reupload them.

I know that there is a bug with Linux and Firefox. It has something to do with Flash.

I'm not sure exactly what problem you are experiencing but one thought is to try different operating systems / browsers to see if that might help us isolate the problem. What OS/browser are you having this difficulty with now?

I'm sure that there is a problem here but it seems like most people can upload. Until we know what is causing this problem it's hard to troubleshoot it.
