Topic: Photos are not shown

wrote Posted 7 months, 1 week ago
most of my uploaded photos do not appear, in my photostream, after page 13 I cannot see a single photo, only their names come out.
What is going on? Need your help.

Got the same problem in my account. (uploaded pics in 2007 and I can't see them now). Does anyone has an idea how to teach however in charge for the website?
wrote Posted on July 31, 2011 (permalink)
You guys make backups, right?

Let's see, major problem on our website, let's ignore it for weeks, and pretend it'll go away. Let's not tell our users anything either.

Yeah I have backup, I can spend sometime to dig them out.

It's rather irresponsible of zooomr team (if there's still one) to do things like this.
wrote Posted on Aug. 1, 2011 (permalink)
I was referring to the fact that apparently Zooomr doesn't have backups, or know how to use them.

Does anyone know how to say drive failure in Japanese?

Maybe any communication at all would remove some of my sarcasm.
wrote Posted on Aug. 2, 2011 (permalink)
You're kidding, right? Kris fix this site?

Kris is too busy being Otaku boy and trying to turn himself into a Japanese weeabo to give two craps about this site.

Any other site would have dealt with these problems, head on, even Flickr... shock, horror.

But, nope, Zooomr is f*cked and Kris doesn't give a shit, unless one of his Japanese backers rides his ass about it.

RAID is not backup.
wrote Posted on Aug. 2, 2011 (permalink)
I just sent Kristopher another DM. Does anyone know how to get in touch with his Japanese VCs?
wrote Posted on Aug. 2, 2011 (permalink)
I really hope that something will be done about this. I had some irreplaceable pictures on there which can't be accessed now. I found copies of about half of my most important pictures on an old laptop, but I've been searching everywhere and can't find some of my others.
wrote Posted on Aug. 8, 2011 (permalink)
I can not belive this..... all my photos are gone?
wrote Posted on Aug. 9, 2011 (permalink)
And the biggest problem is, nobody gets any answer......
wrote Posted on Aug. 9, 2011 (permalink)
Same here, none of my photos is shown anywere!!
Been some time since I used my account, but I never had expected this!
wrote Posted on Aug. 10, 2011 (permalink)
Zooomr seems dead and where are Kris?
wrote Posted on Aug. 11, 2011 (permalink)
Same problem here. My guess is this site barely has any money. Has anyone noticed they closed account registrations like a year or more ago in anticipation of Zooomr zest, which never truly arrived?
wrote Posted on Aug. 11, 2011 (permalink)
I think I got my response from Kristopher: He dropped me as a follower on Twitter so I can't send him any more direct messages. Nice way to treat someone who has been on this site since 2006.

Meanwhile, I'm restoring my missing photos, but with the flash downloader down, I have to do it One. Photo. At. A. Time.

How ridiculous! If he isn't going to manage the site, he should at least give it to someone that can.

You mean whats left of it.

Here's the translation of the Japanese at the bottom of the page:
Announced> August, 2011, no plans to develop and maintain. And stability of the service is not guaranteed Sapoto. When used with due care, please
wrote Posted on Aug. 13, 2011 (permalink)
@Don, how do you restoring missing photos? I would love to take mine "home" too, even if i have to take one by one!
wrote Posted on Aug. 13, 2011 (permalink)
By restoring, I meant reuploading them from my originals at home. If you need to download them from Zooomr, Prophead has an app you can download at http://powername.com/zooomrmacsuite/ that will pull them off.
wrote Posted on Aug. 13, 2011 (permalink)
I should note that Prophead's app does not work on the missing photos.

On another note, why would the notice that Zooomr will no longer be maintained be posted in Japanese, when many of the people here do not speak or read that language? If I had known that, I wouldn't have spent hours putting all my pictures back up.

Kristopher seems to forget that it was Zooomr and its loyal community that has allowed him to get where he is today. If he didn't have time to run it properly, he should have turned it over to someone who could (Google, for example). I like Zooomr because it is better than Flickr. I like Smart Sets, portals and the other features, and it is superior to Picasa in that it has a stream rather than segregated albums.

Thank you Don,sadly Zooomr is destroyed, and Kris dosent care anymore! Still remember those "busy" day`s when Kris and Thomas started, we where all so happy for Zooomr :(
Kris, Clean up this mess!!

Well, to answer that Don, you see, Kristopher has buggered off to Japan to fully express his total weeaboo for anything Japanese, and he obviously felt his desire to turn Japanese, far outweighed the legal contract his site had all us members agree to and abide by.
Thus, legally, Kris, has screwed us all over, used the money he made from pro accounts and the money from ads, etc, to go play in Japan, and left those of us who stood by this site, and those who wound up paying for nothing, to rot.

In short, we all got bilked so Krissy-boy could go play otaku with all little anime friends he made.

(can you see I'm baiting really hard for Kris to clear my account and delete it. Just asking nicely gets you sweet fuck-all.)
wrote Posted on Aug. 15, 2011 (permalink)
Also, forgot to mention, for those who paid for memberships to Zooomr, now is the time to lawyer up and file a joint class-action lawsuit to regain the money you burnt on this service, and added compensation, etc.
Kris needs to learn to not screw his site's members, and just take the money and run.
But of course, he thinks running off to Japan will save his ass from any legal or other action.

photos before aug 2009 are lost?
wrote Posted on Aug. 16, 2011 (permalink)
yep. Some members I know, including myself, have pictures missing before Feb 2011.

Been trying to delete each "empty" picture, but it's annoying having to do it one by freaking one, with no batch deleter to be had.

There's a greasemonkey script for an organizer that will let you do bulk deletes.
wrote Posted on Aug. 17, 2011 (permalink)
For what it's worth, I have also contacted Kris via LinkedIn, expecting to be blocked like Don on Twitter. This just sucks big time!
wrote Posted on Aug. 17, 2011 (permalink)
Post all his contact info, and lets all start bugging him about it.

Have you seen Kristopher's post on the zipline? He's claiming there's no money, bad servers and saying he's never deleted negative comments or dropped anyone from twitter.

From Kristopher:
kristopherIf you guys want to save zooomr, apply for a free job -- you have to be good, though. zooomr costs me a lot of money every month: be grateful. 1 day, 12 hours ago [Web]
kristopherI have not dropped anyone from my twitter or deleted any questions re: zooomr; No money for developers so we have only been paying the datacenter bill 1 day, 13 hours ago [Web]
wrote Posted on Aug. 21, 2011 (permalink)
If hes paying the datacenter bill then where are the old pics? Thats my only gripe.
I wouldn't mind at all putting up a bit of money for it if I could just get my pics back.
wrote Posted on Aug. 21, 2011 (permalink)
Sounds like pure BS to me. What happened to his oh so lovely Japanese backers? And if he was having so many problems, why didn't he just come clean and allow people to simply delete their accounts so they could walk from this sinking ship?

And, why oh why does he only ever post important and crucial info in Japanese??

Plus, if he knew he needed help with keeping things running smoothly, why didn't he put out requests well before letting things go to shit?

His "answers" raise far too many questions.

Sounds like he's dodging now and making excuses, to string us along.

Besides, wasn't he the one who posted, in Japanese, that Zooomr would no longer by updated or maintained??

Anyone have any solutions? I'm very nervous now. I have some priceless old photos that were on this site, and now all my memories are gone. I can't believe this is happening. I'm willing to donate if it means we can get access to our old photos, and back them up. I'm devastated.

Why does no one seem to help? I trusted this site because of their fair and open policies, noble mission, etc. And now they seem to be throwing everyone under the bus!
