Topic: Zooomr hacked!

wrote Posted 4 months, 2 weeks ago
Hi. I'm sad to report that Zooomr has been hacked, and that many thumbnails in my public pictures have been replaced by other pictures (some of those are nude, rude pictures).

Zooomr does not look like it is able to stop this kind of threat, so I cannot keep my account here (my family has my zooomr page bookmarded).
I have yet to see my other questions (on other issues) on the message board answered, so this is my final effort to get the zooomr staff interested in keeping me here. Guys, I respect what you do, but you either solve these issues (beeing hacked and replying to people's questions) soon, or you won't hear from me again. Please do not take offense.

Either way. I can't have pictures like this on my page:

Same here. And the "email support" link shows empty page. Is there any way to fix the problem, maybe rebuild all the resized versions of the original images? (the original images seem to be intact, in my case)

Seems to be fixed?

This happend more than once in recent months. IIRC Kris said it occurs when the database is restarted or something. The problem has always vanished after a couple of hours.

But this is no excuse in my eyes nevertheless. It's pathetic for a site that claims to be the best way to securely share one's photos.

Zooomr wasn't hacked -- there was an issue at the caching layer. We fixed it promptly 20 minutes after it started.

Sorry for any inconveniences -- your photos are safe.

Wow Zooomr needs to get things up and going... I love Zooomr but the speed is slow, attacks aren't stopped. What to do!

And the "email support" link shows empty page.

The E-Mail Support page feeds you a "mailto:zfeedback@bbridgetech.com" address or something. It's supposed to open up your e-mail client automatically and prepare the new message, so all you have to do is type in the subject/message and click send.

It's not a blank page, it just looks like that.

I do admit, this page should be changed to a web form that only logged in users can use, because not everyone can use mailto: links. (Read: Public Terminals, web e-mail users, e.g. no installed desktop client, etc.)

<sarcasm>It would be a blank page in effect nonetheless.</sarcasm>
