Although I'm not in any way related to the guys at Zooomr Exodus and think its a bit immature not to give Kris the chance to explain, I'm not too happy with zooomr as well - for a handful of reasons which not all aren't even rational. So, as Kris said: "To those who continue to bully me and our users, I’m glad flickr exists for you."
I do hope I'm not bullying anyone - but still I'm glad there are other photo services. And I definitely would like to migrate there - which isn't possible at the moment. Which is a pity, given all the talk about openness. And given that other services offer these possibilities... Can I expect to be able to get my photos out of zooomr anytime soon?

i can take any of my photos i wish to using either save as(make sure you have the largest size open) or the print screen option. I know its the longer way, but it works for me!

I know that's possible.. But I have more than 700 photos here and honestly: I'm not the least interested in getting sore fingertips for trying to get out of here.
What fascinated me about zooomr - and made me join - is its openness. Despite all the things that went suboptimal in the ast year, that was made it bearable for me. And wasn't a promise that no one would be locked in here?
Well, I found this other site (I wont name it here, as I dont want to abuse this page to advertise its competition) where there is not only talk about openness, but it is actually practised. They even answered questions and solved problems with the site which I mentioned only in my (pretty irrelevant and unknown)blog - so i chose to change. Even evil flickr allowedme to take out my pix - great zooomr doesnt.
Great zooomr doesnt allow me to edit my profile, either. Once for some reason I can't even imagine right now I entered my full, real name - and I haven't found a way to get it removed yet.
Altogether, I'm unhappy with zooomr and would like to leave. I always considered it to be zooomrs policy to be fair enough to make this possible, but obviously I was wrong.

there is a zooomr backup program for mac from Prophead, that could solve your problem (if you have a mac, or can access one) http://powername.com/zooomrmacsuite/sad you leave zooomr though

700- got you beat! 2000-and growing! but instead of leaving, why not just mark them all private? and use zooomr as storage!

I didn't plan on cancelling the account here. Would be kinda stupid as I'm Pro4Life ;)
I just wanted to have the pix on that other site as well - I like having all my stuff at hand.
Actually, it's less about leaving here, but shifting my focus, e.g. not uploading more pictures etc.
And it's also kinda matter of principles: I should be able to take all my stuff and leave, whether I do so or not. It's about having the opportunity...

If Kris eventually would hand out those announced API keys you could set Migratr to work. If it doesn't handle your "other site" and the latter has an API: the developer of Migratr seems to be very open to requests.

It would work with Migratr. And even if it wouldnt: At least with Migratr I could download my pix.
