Topic: Sets

wrote Posted 4 years, 10 months ago
I feel that either sets or smartsets is a top priority right now, because looking at and uploading photos with no structure or order behind them is not very useful - aside from for individual photos on blogs.

For me, this is the most important thing to get reinstated right now.

i agree.

i agree too, i really miss smartset...

Same here.

Yes, I completely agree. I can't use Zooomr without smart sets, since there is no way to group photos otherwise. Also, if I lose all my old smart sets, then there's no guarantee it won't happen again, so that would also keep me from using Zooomr as a primary service. Data loss for things that take that much time to do wouldn't be acceptable for me.

I agree also! Let's get sets working again, along with the many other MK2 features that are STILL broken!!
wrote Posted on July 12, 2007 (permalink)
Aren't smart sets just keyword driven (I only started with Z3)?
wrote Posted on July 12, 2007 (permalink)
Man you guys said this would be available "shortly" and it's been weeks now. Sets are integral to a site of this type.
wrote Posted on July 12, 2007 (permalink)
This is what Kristopher is working on right now.
wrote Posted on July 13, 2007 (permalink)
Take the time and do it right.

It would be awesome to be able to just search by keyword when you are looking for that certain photo...
wrote Posted on July 13, 2007 (permalink)
i couldn't agree more..i've got these tonnes of pics that i need to be categorised, and had just been sitting on it waiting for that smartset to come back on. was so tempted to take out money for that other photo host

Working on it friends! It's ticket #209 on ZBase and has many many subtickets.

It's a big system! :) More news as it develops!

Sets are #2 in my "wish list". It looks like they may be ready again soon.

Sets and trackbacks.

Is the Zbase public? If so, link?

My vote on sets :)

For awhile I was checking zooomr everyday; hoping that perhaps sets had come back to life. I've given up for now and started using tabblo instead-- but I'd love to have that back.

Enjoy them, guys! :)

Awesome!
Thanks!

THANKS! Kirstopher!

Thanks Kristopher, it's great to have sets back.

Some initial feedback:
- I don't know if I'm imagining it cos I haven't used it in a while, but the image selector for choosing cover image seems really fast!
- When I first went to my sets page, it wasn't working. I'm suspecting it was rebuilding the page for the first time. After a few minutes, it showed up.
- Similar problem when I save a set. Is it regenerating my whole sets page when I save just one of them?
- Select by date isn't working. Perhaps because of missing meta data?
- *edit* sort order is the reverse of what it used to be I think.

None of these are big problems. Hopefully you're getting some sleep just now!

Thanks again.

I take it back about dates. It's just that the 'date taken' selector seems to actually be using 'date uploaded'.

Cheers.

problem: not alla sets are in the sets page!! why??

Choosing the cover art, I couldn't get the keyword search to work?

Not a major but will need to be fixed.
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
The sets worked in IE but I couldn't make in in IE.

Worked fine in Firefox.
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
i've MORE than 12 sets!
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
They dont work well...
If i go to a set and klick on a thumb, i go to the picture in the context of all my pictures - not in in the context of the set. There is no way to return to the set and there is no way, to go to next/prev image in set.
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
Nochjemand,

They work just like they used to, and that's good enough for me!

I can't choose the photo as the cover and the creating of SmartSets just stop there...
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
Yeah, there appears to be a 12 set max...I tried making a few new ones and old ones get deleted (or become hidden), then when deleting the newer ones, the old ones reappear.
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
the sets are only hidden. but why?
wrote Posted on July 21, 2007 (permalink)
I have one set based on a GeoTag ("Locate photos near the following location"). It returns all of my photos, most certainly because geotagging's not working properly yet.

But at least some progess. Thanks, Kris.
wrote Posted on July 22, 2007 (permalink)
Thanks Kris,
What ever and however long this takes you I still believe the way the sets are, umm, set up, has great potential.
:)

Going to take off the limit shortly -- Wanted to make sure this guy will work properly! :)

Is it a joke?

1. When you choose the "match any of" criterion for tags and specify a number of tags greater than one, the photos which have the all specified tags appear as many time as the number of tags. It's wrong. The "match any of" MUST HAVE an "inclusive or" semantic, not an xor one.

2. Leave the frog as default set cover is not a great idea. Choose the first, the last or a random photo from dataset is a better idea. I vote for the last.

3. When I click on a photo in the smartset, Zooomr show me the classic page of photo view, without any reference to the smartset which we are from.

Furthermore, I would add also the ability to leave comments to a smartset.
wrote Posted on July 31, 2007 (permalink)
Oh, another bug (lack of usability): when I open the "dialog" to choose the set cover, it shows me ALL the photo, not the only photos matching the criteria (eventually) specified for the smartset.

All good ideas. Hope to implement some of them in the future.

I hope too. BTW, #1 and "lack of usability" are bugs.
wrote Posted on Aug. 5, 2007 (permalink)
I have also just discovered a bug: if you create a set which has empty tags, it crashes the sets page - I now get an error on that page.
wrote Posted on Aug. 24, 2007 (permalink)
My vote goes for this too.
Smarsets don't work in IE7 and I would like to see manual sets, the ability of choosing manually which fotos we want.
