Topic: Make Use of Zooomr Features to Share Information

Photo Pools can be handy in helping send some people, from a group, to view the image in a larger size. However, at the same time, you may want to make use of the many tools Zooomr offers to help encourage, or entice, more eyes enjoying your work. Particularly since the Pittsburgh (Photography) Zooomr Group recommends members to share up to two images, per day, in the Photo Pool.

For Example:
  • GeoTag is a nifty feature to share the location of where you took the photograph. Exactness is great but 'relatively in the ball park' would be helpful information to others. This will also aide in others, outside of the group, to find photographs you have taken in certain areas through the Zooomr site search tool.

  • Labels, or Tags, is another way to share more information about a photograph. Try, whenever possible, to use more than a couple of labels, or tags, to "describe" the photo. Again, this information being shared, by you, will help others to find those photos more easily.

  • Talk about the Photograph, or adding a Description, can sometimes help draw people in and may even help prompt them to share comments. You don't have to write a novel about it but a sentence or two can help your photos on Zooomr being found by others, outside of Zooomr, through search engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc. (Even if you a blog site where you link to your Zooomr photos - try to share a sentence or two on its Zooomr page).

  • Smart Sets can help organize your online photos, particularly as your collection of image offerings grow! If you have taken several photographs of an area's faded signage or just of a particular piece of signage then consider creating a smart set for those photos. That way you can share a couple of the photographs to the group's Photo Pool and then share a link to the smart set - and entice people to go look at the rest (and maybe other photographs you have uploaded).

  • Title, or Name, the photo. DSCN00121 or IMG0021 is not all the informative or enticing.

  • Think about outside, as well as inside, of Zooomr and why you uploaded the image online. Most people upload images in hopes of others seeing and appreciating their efforts or work - so make your titles, descripts, tags, and whatever else Zooomr offers to help you work toward that goal!
